India–UK Trade Agreement (CETA)

Most Indian goods can now enter the UK at zero or lower duty, as long as the shipment carries the correct proof of origin. The India–UK trade agreement came into force on 15 July 2026. We prepare the proof of origin, such as a certificate of origin, and check the paperwork before the cargo sails, and our UK partners confirm the UK duty before shipping. For imports, some UK goods also get lower Indian duty under the agreement; we check whether yours qualifies.

What we do under the agreement

  • Proof of origin prepared by us
  • Paperwork checked before sailing
  • UK duty confirmed by our UK partners
  • Indian duty benefit checked on imports

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers to what clients ask us most. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

What is the transit time from India to the UK?

The time depends on the vessel, the service offered by the line and the route chosen, either via Suez or round the Cape. Delivery inside the UK adds another leg. Every booking comes with a confirmed schedule, so your plan rests on actual sailing dates, not a general estimate.

Which UK ports do you ship to?

Our UK ports are Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway. From the port, our UK partners arrange customs clearance and delivery to inland points across the UK.

Do you handle UK customs clearance?

Through our UK partners, yes. The Indian side is ours: our own licensed customs broker (CHA) desk files the shipping bill on ICEGATE. Our UK partners handle the UK customs entry and confirm the UK duty before the cargo ships.

Does the India–UK trade agreement reduce duty on my goods?

Yes — most Indian goods can now enter the UK at zero or lower duty, as long as the shipment has correct proof of origin. The India–UK trade agreement came into force on 15 July 2026. We prepare the proof of origin, such as a certificate of origin, and our UK partners confirm the UK duty for your goods before shipping.

Do you handle imports from the UK to India?

Yes. Our partners collect the goods in the UK and ship them to Nhava Sheva (JNPT). Our CHA desk sees to the Bill of Entry and settles the duty, and our trucks deliver the cargo to your factory in any Indian state, on one invoice for the Indian side. Some UK goods also get lower Indian duty under the trade agreement, and we check whether yours qualify.

Is there an LCL service to the UK?

Yes. FCL moves in the usual 20 ft, 40 ft and high-cube steel boxes, and LCL gives part loads a shared container. Air freight is there when the clock is tight. Tell us the weight or volume and the date you need, and we will suggest the best mode.
