Export Customs Clearance & Shipping Bill Filing, Mumbai

Export Clearance · Shipping Bill · Nhava Sheva (JNPT) · Mumbai Port

We plan backwards
from the cut-off.

An export does not fail at the port. It fails three days earlier, when the empty container arrives late at your factory. We book the space, haul the empty on our own trailer, stuff and seal at your gate, file the shipping bill through our in-house CHA desk, and deliver to the terminal before cut-off.

Why exports miss the vessel

A rolled container costs the storage, the fresh booking, and the customer conversation you did not want to have. It rarely happens because the paperwork was wrong. It happens because the empty came late, the stuffing ran over, or the trucker to the port was booked by someone with no reason to care about your cut-off. Every one of those is a road problem, and the road is the part we own.

How your export sails

Booking

Space contracted with the line

FCL or LCL space is booked directly with the major lines out of Nhava Sheva (JNPT) and Mumbai Port against your production date — not against whatever sailing is left when the cargo is ready. Tell us the ready date and the destination port and we work back from the cut-off.

At your factory

Stuffed and sealed at your gate

The empty container is hauled to your factory on our own trailer, stuffed under your supervision, sealed and documented on the spot. No consolidation-warehouse hand-offs, no second handling of cargo you have already packed correctly.

Documentation

Shipping bill filed in-house

The shipping bill and the full export document set are prepared and filed by our own licensed customs broker (CHA) desk in Chembur. Drawback and scheme claims are handled on the same file rather than by a separate consultant who needs the paperwork re-sent.

To the port

At the terminal before cut-off

The loaded box runs to Nhava Sheva or Mumbai Port on the same trailer that collected it, timed to the terminal cut-off rather than to a trucker’s convenience.

Documents for an export from India

The core set is short, and our customs clearance agents tell you early which extras apply. What varies is the destination and the product — and getting that wrong is what strands a consignment at the far end, weeks after it left.

Where your exports go

Our biggest export lanes from Nhava Sheva are the USA, the UK and Europe, followed by Australia, Japan and the Far East, East Africa and the Gulf — and worldwide through our agent network. Destination handling is done by our partner offices — 40+ of them — which is how an Indian operator reaches the world honestly. We are not a multinational with our own branch in Rotterdam, and we will not pretend to be. What we do own is the Indian leg, which is where consignments actually go wrong.

Exporting pharma and specialty chemicals

Most of our export book is finished product leaving pharmaceutical, specialty chemical and petrochemical plants in Maharashtra and Gujarat. Those consignments carry dangerous-goods declarations, MSDS, certificates of analysis and destination-specific registrations, and they are checked before the container is sealed rather than after it sails. GlaxoSmithKline, Hetero Labs, Atul Ltd, Meghmani and Gulf Oil ship on these files.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers to what clients ask us most. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

Do you file shipping bills for exports from Mumbai?

Yes. Shipping bills are filed by our own desk in Chembur for exports moving through Nhava Sheva (JNPT) and Mumbai Port, together with the full export documentation set — invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and any product-specific certification.

What documents do I need to export from India?

An IEC from DGFT, a commercial invoice and packing list, the shipping bill, and a bill of lading once the cargo sails. Depending on destination and product you may also need a certificate of origin, a phytosanitary or health certificate, or a dangerous-goods declaration.

Can you book the container and stuff it at my factory?

Yes. We contract space with the line, haul the empty container to your factory on our own trailer, stuff and seal it at your gate, file the shipping bill and deliver it to the port before cut-off. No consolidation-warehouse hand-offs and no third-party trucker in the chain.

What happens if my cargo misses the vessel cut-off?

It rolls to the next sailing, which usually costs storage and a fresh booking. We plan backwards from the cut-off rather than forwards from the pickup, and because the trailer is ours the departure time is something we control rather than something we are told.

Do you handle export documentation for pharma and chemicals?

Yes. Pharmaceutical and specialty chemical exports carry extra documentation — dangerous-goods declarations, MSDS, certificates of analysis and destination-specific registrations. Clients such as GlaxoSmithKline, Hetero Labs, Atul Ltd, Meghmani and Gulf Oil ship on these files regularly.

Which export destinations do you cover?

Our biggest export lanes from Nhava Sheva are the USA, the UK and Europe, followed by Australia, Japan and the Far East, East Africa and the Gulf — and worldwide through our agent network, with destination handling by our partner offices.
