India to Kenya and Tanzania,
Mombasa and Dar es Salaam.

Cargo crosses to East Africa under one instruction: our trucks bring it to Nhava Sheva, our desk clears it, and our partners in Kenya and Tanzania deliver it. Tea and coffee come back the same way.

India to Kenya shipping, from Nhava Sheva

Badshah Logistics (India) Pvt Ltd, working from Nhava Sheva (JNPT) and Mumbai Port, books the Kenya and Tanzania lanes steadily. Medicines, machinery and rice go out; tea, coffee and soda ash return. One desk runs the Indian side — collection, export clearance, the sailing — and our partners in Mombasa and Dar es Salaam receive it. Single containers and monthly programmes alike run under one file, and the buying seasons never wait for vessel space on this desk. Ask for the Mombasa file or the Dar file when you call; both live in the same Mumbai office.

India to Kenya & Tanzania — Exports

Vessels from Nhava Sheva (JNPT) and Mundra call at Mombasa for Kenya and Dar es Salaam for Tanzania; Nairobi and upcountry points are reached by road and rail through our partners, who also move transit cargo to the neighbouring countries. Cargo for Uganda, Rwanda and the hinterland travels under transit bonds arranged on that side, so the ocean leg and the overland leg meet without a seam.

Mombasa and Dar es Salaam

Mombasa serves Kenya and the hinterland as far as Uganda and Rwanda; Dar es Salaam serves Tanzania and its neighbours. Nairobi stands inland, reached from Mombasa through our partners. Between them the two harbours serve the whole of the eastern seaboard.

Kenya & Tanzania to India — Imports

Tea from the Kenyan highlands, coffee, soda ash from the lake country and scrap metal come to Nhava Sheva (JNPT) in our partners’ care. Our desk clears the consignment and our trailers run it to your works. Harvest schedules set the pace, and our partners space the sailings so the crop never waits for a box.

Import — East Africa to India

African cargo, Indian desk

From Mombasa or Dar es Salaam the boxes reach Nhava Sheva, and from Nhava Sheva our own trucks — one firm, one bill, end to end on the Indian side. Tea brokers in Kolkata and packaging lines in Punjab clear against the same bill our desk filed.

Export from India

Papers outbound

Give us the invoice and packing list; the shipping bill on ICEGATE and the certificate of origin come from our desk. Our Kenyan and Tanzanian partners handle entry and any local permit. Certificates for food and farm produce are raised early, because entry points abroad ask for them at the gate.

For tea, coffee or soda ash arriving from East Africa, send the packing list, the invoice, the bill of lading and your IEC. The Bill of Entry and duty sit with us, and so does the truck. Bulk tea and coffee files carry their own inspections, timed around the vessel by our desk.

Transit Time

Direct services and transhipped ones both serve the East African coast — often via Jebel Ali or Colombo — and the upcountry leg from the port adds its own stretch. The schedule that matters is the one confirmed for your booking, in writing. Where the sailing tranships, the connecting service matters as much as the first leg, and the pair is booked together rather than left to meet by luck.

Why East Africa ships with Badshah

Since 1986

A short chain to the coast

Our own trucks to Nhava Sheva, our own licence through customs, one partner network beyond Mombasa and Dar es Salaam. Short chains rarely lose cargo. When a question lands at Mombasa, the reply comes from the desk that shipped the box, not from a stranger to the file.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers to what clients ask us most. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

How long does ocean shipping to Kenya and Tanzania take?

The service decides: some vessels run direct to Mombasa or Dar es Salaam, others tranship — often via Jebel Ali or Colombo — and the upcountry delivery after the port adds its own leg. We confirm the schedule in writing for each booking.

Do you ship to Mombasa and Dar es Salaam?

Yes, both. Mombasa serves Kenya, with Nairobi and upcountry points reached inland, and Dar es Salaam serves Tanzania. Transit cargo for Uganda, Rwanda and the neighbouring countries moves through our partners. Air freight is available for urgent cargo.

Can you move transit cargo to neighbouring countries?

Yes. Cargo landing at Mombasa or Dar es Salaam for Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and beyond is handled by our partners, who arrange the transit bonds and the onward transport. Tell us the final destination and we will set the routing.

Do you handle imports from Kenya and Tanzania?

Yes. Tea, coffee, soda ash, pulses and scrap leave Mombasa and Dar es Salaam in our partners’ care and reach Nhava Sheva (JNPT). Our desk clears each consignment, and our own trailers deliver to your works anywhere in India.

Do you ship LCL part loads to Mombasa?

Yes. Part loads share containers on the lane, which suits the trading-cargo volumes common between India and East Africa. Full containers and air freight are available too. Tell us the weight and volume together, and we will suggest the right mode.

What cargo moves from India to East Africa?

Pharmaceuticals, machinery, rice and sugar, plastics, vehicles and auto parts, electrical equipment, paper and chemicals make up the outbound flow. Tea, coffee, soda ash, pulses and scrap return. Ask about anything else — the list is a guide.
